The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, Inc. invites eligible parties to apply for grant funds to support projects furthering the D&L’s mission. This is your opportunity to apply for funding to preserve the heritage of our communities through partnerships that conserve resources, tell the stories and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors.
Some improvements were made to the D&L grant program in 2008. They include:
- A rolling application period with no specific “deadline” to apply for funds.
- “Challenge” grants now available ($1000 max) with “in kind” match.
- Shorter processing period

TYPES OF GRANTS AVAILABLE:
- Planning grants
- Eligible projects address preparation and development and/or detailed research of a future Implementation Project. The projects should be based in our Management Action Plan or Interpretive Education Program.
- Examples include master plans, land conservation planning, economic assessments, and outdoor exhibit plans for trails linking to the D & L Trail.
- 25% match required.
Implementation grants
- Eligible projects execute recommendations from our Management Action Plan, Interpretive Education Program or a planning study that was funded in a prior year.
- Examples include trail construction, signage, interpretive/educational exhibits and materials, conservation and preservation along the D & L Trail.
- 50% match required.
NEW “Challenge Grants”
- Intended to fund small, focused projects of grassroots organizations that will further the D&L mission (examples: scout projects, local heritage events, publications, etc.)
- $1000 maximum
- 50% “In-kind” match accepted
