Donna Boone is the Regional Main Street Coordinator for Landmark Towns of Bucks County, a regional economic development initiative of the four Delaware riverfront boroughs of Bristol, Morrisville, Yardley and New Hope. In this position she is responsible for developing and coordinating a regional strategy to foster economic development and community revitalization, focused on growing downtown business opportunities and tourism, using the Main Street approach.
Donna is no stranger to downtown revitalization, having spent over four years as the Executive Director of Main Street Burlington, a traditional, single community revitalization effort. During her tenure, the downtown in the City of Burlington, NJ was fortunate to witness the introduction of 40 new businesses and over 100 new job opportunities. She’s a firm believer that downtown’s need to be managed, similar to the way shopping malls need to be managed. Donna is proud to have accepted the Burlington County Chamber of Commerce Award for Economic Development on behalf of Main Street Burlington.
Having completed the NJ Department of Community Affairs Downtown Revitalization and Management Institute courses, Donna is trained in the National Trust’s Main Street Approach to downtown revitalization. Following this approach, hundreds of communities across the country have seen tremendous investment in their communities.
Prior to her work with downtown revitalization, she worked in a non-profit as a Community Development Officer. She’s held several elected positions, including that of local school board president.
