The Basics: This section crosses the Lehigh River from Weissport to Lehighton, then continues south to the East Penn Township boat launch. The Lehigh River is always in view, as users follow a railroad grade tucked snuggly against a steep mountainside.
The Details: Due to Pennsylvania Turnpike Bridge construction, this section of trail is currently closed to all use. For your safety, please avoid this section of trail, and obey all posted regulations. The final phase of construction will be to turn the construction access road into a standard surface rail trail. The bridges and trail should be complete in 2012.
