Nominations are being accepted for the 2011 Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor’s Partner Recognition Awards. These awards recognize individuals, non-profit organizations, businesses and corporations whose passion exemplifies the mission of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor—to protect and preserve the region’s rich historic, cultural and natural resources. The deadline for submitting a nomination is July 1, 2011.
2011 Partnership Recognition Dinner Nomination Form
Nomination Award Categories:
Heritage Partnership Award – Presented to a group, person or organization that has demonstrated excellence in historic preservation, restoration, conservation or interpretation for efforts that focus on our canals, railroads or drive connecting the Corridor communities.
Leadership – Presented to a person or organization for meaningful contributions, either monetary or through partnership, by enriching our communities through landscape conservation or historic preservation.
Heritage Development Award – To recognize a municipality that sensitively uses its heritage resources as an integral part of its community revitalization and sustainability strategy.
Heritage Tourism Award – To recognize a project that furthers economic and tourism development while respecting heritage resources in the Corridor.
Stewardship Award – To recognize practices that preserve and protect the natural, cultural and historical resources of the Corridor.
Legacy Award – Presented for outstanding efforts by a person or organization for excellence in conveying the Corridor’s mission through interpretation, education or outreach activities.
Commandant Award – To recognize outstanding volunteers for their years of dedication and commitment to enhancing and maintaining the D&L Trail.
Lifetime Achievement Award – Presented to a person or agency who exemplifies outstanding leadership and advances our mission through heritage development.
