Guth’s Bridge Image 1

Anchoring the eastern end of South Whitehall Township’s Covered Bridge Park is Manasses Guth’s Bridge.  Along with the Wehr Covered Bridge, it bookends this unique park along Jordan Creek.  The 129-foot long single span Burr Truss Bridge was built in 1858, partially destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1882.  The bridge was named after Manasses Guth, who lived in the adjacent stone farmhouse and was a descendant of Lorentz Guth, the first settler in the area in 1745.
