The mission of the Palmerton Area Library Association is to provide quality materials and services which fulfill educational, informational, cultural, and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming and respectful.
The library is open free to all. There is no charge for any materials checked out or for the use of the computers.
The library has a collection of over 32,000 items including books, DVD’s, videos, music CD’s, audio books, magazines and newspapers and maps. The library also has an extensive collection of local history materials including family genealogy information of local founding families. In the basement we have a year round book sale with an ever changing supply of used books, puzzles and videos.
The library offers weekly children’s storyhours, adult seminars, computer classes, summer reading programs, art and photography shows and other special programs.
There is an active Friends of the Library organization which promotes the library and holds fundraisers.
