This pre-1825 Pennsylvania stone farmhouse tells the story of an extraordinary woman who grew up as a missionary’s daughter in China and became a world-renowned author, activist, and humanitarian. Today the Pearl S. Buck House is a National Historic Landmark, one of only a few devoted to a notable woman that features a largely intact collection of furnishings, artwork, and personal effects. Whether you visit as an individual or as part of a group tour, you will appreciate why we preserve this unique collection, draw from it to interpret the life of Pearl S. Buck, and continue the author’s life work of enhancing cross-cultural appreciation and fostering opportunities for children and their families, while building bridges between East and West.
