The Ukrainian Homestead is located at the site of the former Lafayette Lentz Estate. Lentz, who was a prominent businessman, and one of the Jim Thorpe “millionaires” of the 1800s, built the estate for his wife. A trout hatchery was also at the site. Although the Mansion was lost to a fire in the early 1980s, the original stable is still there including the various and assorted trees which Lentz had planted around the grounds. The large Banquet Hall and grounds are a beautiful background for any event held at the Homestead.
